Fastback^® Hardcover™ cases are part of the Fastback Hardcover binding system – a pioneering breakthrough in on-demand publishing.

Traditional hardcover book binding methods are slow, expensive and require a lot of set up. Books are printed into signatures which are sewn together and then glued into the hard cover. Traditional machines are made to automate large volume runs. The only other option for short print runs was hand binding.

Powis' invention gives individuals the power to publish one book or one thousand with no unnecessary waste.

How is it done?

First, you bind your pages and folded endleaves with one of our higher-engineered adhesive strips. This is called the book block. Then you attach the book block to one of our Fastback^® Hardcover™ cases. Pressure sensitive adhesive is built into the hard cover (or case), so it attaches easily and firmly.

The result is a hardcover book that matches commercially manufactured books in quality and appearance.
